For this programme they are now looking for ambitious entrepreneurs, based in the Netherlands, who have an innovation in the field of the protein transition, want to scale-up and need to raise 10 million euros or more in the next one to three years. In 2050 our food system needs to offer food security to ten billion people worldwide. Tasty, affordable, healthy and sustainable food, produced with respect for animals and our planet. To achieve this we will have to work together and strengthen the global protein ecosystem. We need to ensure a future-proof, well-balanced protein consumption and production. And the process is already set in motion, for the demand for alternative protein is growing fast. To meet this demand a scale-up in production is needed.

What can the Fastlane programme do for you?
Foodvalley NL, ScaleUpNation and Invest NL noticed that innovative protein pioneers are being hampered in their development. To scale up, money and expertise are needed. So we have joined forces. Together we have the crucial connections in the ecosystem, we can offer the vital specialist support and advice, and we can sort out the financing that is necessary to make a meaningful difference in the protein shift.
In the Fastlane programme we select entrepreneurs and give them a ‘milestone’ scan to identify the milestone achievements they need to attract capital. To help them reach these milestones we will find them experts who have ample experience with and knowledge of the specific challenges the entrepreneurs face. The programme consists of tailor-made support, advice, guidance and the opportunity to hire relevant experts.
