Event impression 2023

The eighth edition

On 24 and 25 May, we had the honor of welcoming the world’s brightest minds in agrifoodtech in person and online for the eighth edition of F&A Next. The F&A Community connected in Wageningen with a total of 737 leading startups, scale-ups, investors, corporates and other agrifoodtech enthusiasts from 35 countries spread over 5 continents. Over 3,900 messages were sent and 1,375 appointments were made via our digital network tool. And many more interactions have taken place at the exhibition booths and in our hall ways.

Our 8th edition of F&A Next addressed ‘Adapting Consumption Within Planetary Boundaries.’ The food and agriculture industry faces a daunting challenge on different fronts: reducing greenhouse gas emissions and food waste and limiting freshwater consumption and soil depletion to restore biodiversity, our ecosystems, and livelihoods, all while the planet’s population continues to grow. This year, F&A Next hosted over 750 participants who have accepted this challenge and are actively working on innovative solutions to the problems we are facing.

Supplying a sufficient and healthy diet for 10 billion people while keeping our biosphere intact requires radically different ways of producing and consuming food. To speed up the impactful transition, we need partnerships and capital that champion breakthrough innovations and facilitate dietary changes. We can only achieve a sustainable food system through a collective effort.

We’ve had many inspiring speakers, great panel discussions, and, of course, the 10 Next Heroes in Food & AgTech 2023 pitching on stage. Special topics included developing relationships between startups and investors, the adoption of alternative proteins, defining carbon footprint in Food and agriculture, restoring biodiversity, climate-smart agriculture, regenerative agriculture innovation, the role of artificial intelligence, and circularity

Below are some highlights and impressions of the event, whether you want to relive the moment or see what you may have missed.
