Currently serving as the Global Head of Regenerative Agriculture at Diageo, Vanessa leads the global strategy and execution of Diageo’s regenerative agriculture ambitions and wider ESG agenda for raw materials, as part of Diageo’s Society 2030 – Spirit of Progress.
Prior to Diageo, Vanessa served as the Global Sustainability Lead for Food Systems and Nutrition at Unilever and was also seconded to the World Business Council for Sustainable Development to mobilise private sector engagement towards the first United Nations’ Food Systems Summit, held in New York in 2021.
During her time at Olam International, Vanessa developed sustainability strategies across commodity supply chains where she launched the Global Agribusiness Action on Equitable Livelihoods, an industry coalition focused on sustainability issues at the producer end of the value chain. Vanessa developed Olam “AtSource“, a digital sustainable sourcing solution and supply chain footprint calculator and led the company‘s food loss and waste strategy.
Vanessa has a MA in Anthropology of Development from SOAS University in London and is passionate about food system transformations, system thinking and innovation to overcome the sustainability challenges of our times.
