With years of experience in science and business, Tess co-founded Novogaia with a mission to accelerate the discovery of natural product from fungi. With less than 1% of fungal chemistries studied, the fungal kingdom remains a vast, untapped source of promising compounds that Tess is set out to discover, together with co-founder and CTO David Kubánek.
Accelerating natural product discovery
Novogaia leverages metabologenomics and machine learning to decode the biosynthetic pathways of fungal species, opening doors to unprecedented scientific discoveries and innovations. Novogaia is building a computational model that accelerates R&D processes for their customers in search of new natural compounds derived from fungi. Their model makes predictive links between the genes of fungi, the molecules encoded in these genes, and the function of the molecules. These discoveries are aimed at revolutionizing industries ranging from food ingredients to agrochemicals, accelerating the transition to a sustainable bioeconomy.
