Turning a serious business – that of the protein transition – into serious business. That’s the challenge Jeroen Willemsen MSc (1972) is taking up for 25 years now. As founder at plant-meat producer Ojah he learned what it takes to create a protein transition gamechanger. He guided many protein transition- start-ups to scale-ups, recognizing market opportunities and innovative entrepreneurs. Since 2017, Jeroen is lead Protein Transition at Foodvalley NL. With The Protein Community, powered by Foodvalley NL, Jeroen created a world-wide respected platform with over 130 partners, proving the power of connecting start-ups, scale-ups and corporates in shortening the time to market for alt-protein innovations. His role in accelerating the protein transition earned him the title ‘Protein Commissioner of the Netherlands’.
